Important Information About Your Claim
Insurance companies have changed in the last few years in the way they determine the cost of your claim; They no longer determine the claim based on contractors bids. Your insurance adjuster determines the scope of work and the total cost for those repairs using a database program called Xactimate. What many do not understand is that the insurance company is only obligated to pay for the actual cost of repairs therefore whatever the property owner pays the contractor is what the final claim total will end up being. In other words, if you go with a contractors estimate that's less than what the insurance estimate indicates, the insurance company will deduct the difference when the contractors' invoice is submitted. This deduction shows up in the final check (the depreciation check) at the completion of the job. What the property owner hoped to save by using a lesser bid is lost back to the insurance company, not to mention potentially receiving a compromised installation because the contractor was tempted to cut corners in order to save money. For these reasons, it's not beneficial to get 2-3 bids only to choose the least expensive bid unless you want to save money for the insurance company. The best thing to do is to work with a company that you can trust and who knows how to work with the insurance company to ensure a complete and proper claim settlement in the end. We are insurance negotiating specialists who understand your insurance companys estimating system because we use the same program. We are able to work with them to ensure you get the proper settlement so that you will not be forced into a compromised installation. Therefore, our estimate (each line item and subsequent pricing) will be determined by the program (Xactimate). We will take a great deal of care in determining what your insurance adjuster would or should include in his estimate. Our mode of operation is to repair or replace all damaged items as determined by the insurance company for exactly what they will pay. Therefore, our estimate is always based on what we believe your adjuster will include in his estimate. Sometimes the insurance adjuster will miss something in their evaluation therefore if this is the case we will work directly with your adjuster on your behalf to make sure the damaged item is accounted for in his scope of work. If the insurance adjuster submits a lower estimate and it is determined by Xactimate to be correct, then we will adjust our estimate to match his. In any case, we guarantee that the work we do for you will be for the exact amount the insurance pays thus eliminating the need to get additional bids. The bottom line is, we do it all at the price that can't be beat!
